2009 Cadillac XLR review

Date

April 7 2010

Model

Cadillac XLR Platinum

Pros

I like everything about this car. I did the research before purchasing.

Cons

I wish I could afford two of them.

Overall

I have driven a number of sports cars and owned quite a few including the Nissan Maxima, Mercedes S320, Jaquar S-Type and the XJ. and others. I have never been more satisfied than I have with the Cadillac XLR. Its' got style, its got class, its got the ride and it will definitely turn heads. Its' got the pep and performance that I have been looking for. For the money you pay, it's worth it to me.

Model

Cadillac XLR-V

Pros

Car is great in every way

Cons

No problems

Overall

The XLR-V handles great is very fast and looks great. I have owned a lot of cars and this is one of the best ones that I have ever had. People everywhere I go ask about it, Young and old, Male and female. It has one of the best sound systems of any stock cars. The interior is very nice and the retractable hardtop goes down in about 30 secants.

Model

Cadillac XLR Platinum

Pros

Outstanding Steering, Fits In Small Car Spots, Good Stability.

Cons

Could Have Smaller Engine With Much Better Economy, Limited Room.

Overall

Outstanding Appearing Smaller Luxury, Sportscar Convertible/Hardtop. Outstanding Handeling. Adequate Storage For Shorter Trips & Overnight Stays. Best To Be Closer To Dealer If Any Major Problem Develops. Could have more storage space & room. Could have much better economy with smaller engine. Traction feature limited helpfulness on snow & ice. I prefer Digital displays over analog

Model

Cadillac XLR-V

Pros

Looks, engine performance, a name to trust

Cons

I don't know of any

Overall

I'm wondering if the other reviewer has ever even been inside or driven one of these beautiful vehicles. It's based off the Corvette platform and has similar performance and handling characteristics. I've had the pleasure of driving one for quite a bit and am looking to buy one as they are priced well below comparable Corvettes and in my opinion are a better looking vehicle.

Cadillac XLR-V

Pros

Looks, Cadillac reliability

Cons

Few color choices, Hideous side vents for 2009, interior is junky looking

Overall

GM ruined the sleek lines of car for 2009 with tacky chrome side vents and ugly wheels for base model. Given what this car costs only 3 color choices is too few. XLR-V was stunning in Maroon but was only avail in 2006 & 2007.
